Let me take you back 7 years.
The year is 2015 and Bruno Mars’ ‘Uptown Funk’ is playing every damn place you turn. Everyone’s wearing white trainers and it looks like a tiger has got loose on everybody’s jeans.
I’m sitting in a University lecture, listening to how journalists use tricolons to appeal to the logical mind and weave in bands of persuasion. I worked my ass off to get into University to study Creative Writing and English Language. And now that I’m here, there’s one path that is lit up like the Disney Princess parade: copywriting.
You’re watching me from the other side of the room, knowing that, one day, you’re going to launch a business. Because you’ve been dreaming of it for years.
But you’re one of the 58% of women that are too scared to launch your own company.
So, you put it off.
Read Harry Potter for the first time and decided to be an author. Or a witch. Or both
Packed up and moved to sunny Spain. Became bilingual and ate more paella than humanly possible.
Ya girl entered the world half asleep.
Packed up and left the fam in Spain to study English Language and Creative Writing at uni in the UK.
Got taught a module on advertising and copywriting. Life changed big time.
Grabbed A Levels in English Language, English Literature, Spanish and Drama.
Graduate Uni. Loved the grad ball party so much that I decided to do it twice.
Added another 9k of debt and graduated as a real-life teacher.
Started writing copy on and off and watched my words build brands.
Took the plunge and became my own boss, pursuing my dream at last.
Most growth happened in those 3 years than the rest of my journey combined. Simultaneously slaying and loving it.
Started writing copy + content for Killing Kittens when I wasn't in the classroom.
And it’s that movement that shapes everything I do in my business.
It’s why, every client I work with, is so special. Because their brand’s growth holds so much power. Both to the owner and society as a whole.
